Front Counter Person

Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Front Counter Person/Barista will be to make guests feel welcome, perform cashier duties, serve gelato, assist in preparing gelato as needed, and prepare and serve espresso drinks, sandwiches, and sundaes. The Front Counter Person’s duties will also include opening/closing responsibilities and regular cleaning of the facility and equipment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Create a warm, inviting environment by greeting customers as they arrive, assisting customers with purchase decisions, etc.
  • Prepare and serve espresso drinks, sandwiches, and gelato
  • Create a quality, well presented product
  • Educate customers about gelato and traditional espresso drinks
  • Operate a cash register with accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean serving and working environment. This includes moping floors, cleaning equipment, taking out trash and washing dishes.
  • Perform opening and/or closing duties as assigned. To include food prep, register set up, morning cleaning and end of the day cleaning, register closing, and locking of shop
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in customer service preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Able to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Proactive working style. Ability to keep on task without constant direction.
  • Ability to taste and evaluate the products that are served including coffee, gelato, and panini.
  • Interest in cooking with local fresh ingredients preferred
  • Must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 50lb.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and crouch
  • Must be able to stand for at least 4-8 hour shifts

Prep Cook

Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Prep Cook will be to prepare ingredients by washing and cutting fresh produce, slicing deli meat, and maintaining an inventory of prepped items. They will undertake basic cooking duties such as, making sauces and soups. They will make guests feel welcome, perform cashier duties, serve gelato, assist in preparing gelato as needed, and prepare and serve espresso drinks, sandwiches, and sundaes. The Prep Cook duties will also include opening/closing responsibilities and regular cleaning of the facility and equipment.

Gelatiere Intern

Summary:
Assist our gelato kitchen crew to produce and display gelato for sale. This position is a training position to become a full time Gelatiere.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist gelato kitchen crew in preparing gelato
  • Prepare fruit and inclusions for gelato
  • Prepare gelato for display
  • Run errands
  • Wash dishes and other cleaning tasks as assigned
